Give-a-Child-a-Chance (GCC)
Where does my money go?
85-90% Program Implementation
Supports the children, families and the community with: education, counselling, leisure outings, health, social betterment, etc.
10-15% Administration and Growth
Supports our efforts to advertise, transport supplies, and communicate with sponsors. One! is proud that our administrative costs are low.
What do I get from the GCC?
You get the knowledge that one little boy or girl on the other side of the world is getting an education, and health, and so much more only because your heart was big enough to give him/her a chance. Upon first joining the GCC, you will receive a little photo album of your child and the stories that go along with them. Also you will get any artwork that your child has submitted to One! and any of the crafts that we do with the children. You get from the Give-a-Child-a-Chance program what you want to get out of it. It gives you the chance to get to know and love a child from the other side of the world.
Payment Options
Option 1: Chequing
You can send your first $30 cheque made out to One! International, as given on the contact page. You agree to send a cheque to One! International before the 1st of every month. Or, You can send multiple postdated cheques if this is easier.
Option2: Automatic Withdrawal
To help make it easier on yourself, you can pay directly from your account. Please email or mail a request for the account information and then arrange with your bank for the $30 to be automatically transferred each month. If you are doing automatic withdrawal, please send an email to One! indicating the date your withdrawal will be made, this information is not given on our bank statements.
Option3: Credit Card / Debit Card
Donations can now be made via Credit Card or Debit Card through the CanadaHelps.org website. CanadaHelps.org is a non-profit organization that takes 3% of your donation toward administration (VISA fees, processing costs and Tax Receipt delivery). The remaining 97% goes directly to One! International and therefore your child. The transaction is free for the contributor. If you are interested in this method of payment please click the link below. In this option it is EXTREMELY important that you send us an email saying when you sent money, how much, and for what child. This information is not provided on our bank statements, and we will need to send out your child's information to you as fast as possible.
Option 4: Multiple Month Payment
This option is for those who find it easier to pay for multiple months at one time (Four times a year, or twice a year, or just once a year). Please indicate clearly on the cheque how many months it is for and for which months, this information is not provided on our bank statements.
Option 5: Automatic Deposit
If you are interested in automatically depositing the money from any financial institution (in Canada or by wire from abroad), we will give you the account details. In this option it is EXTREMELY important that you send us an email saying when you sent money, how much, and for what child. This information is not provided on our bank statements, and we wish to acknowledge your generosity.
Option 6: US Residents
Though we are not able to give official tax receipts for US donations, we have been informed that a notification of receival of your donation from us will suffice. Also, if you donate through the CanadaHelps.org facility mentioned above, CanadaHelps.org will send you a receipt that will be adequate for your needs.
