Summer Fun
With home-made plays, dances by a trained dance instructor and songs from the heart—how could the summer programs of 2009 not be a success.
Volunteers and staff managed to put together two great shows.
Nallasopara is still relatively new in the performance arena, but proved that they are improving each time and gaining confidence.
The children of Khar put on a great show and really showed that they are not amateurs any more. Even though the audience size was disappointing, the show was uplifting and clearly displayed the potential of the students.

Second Wall Family Diary
|
|
Second installment.
“The kids at One are truly beautiful and they amaze me in that they can come to school each day with a big smile for you even though their home life is so very dismal and at times abusive. …..It seems there is always a lesson about life to learn here and the chance to reflect on the abundances that we enjoy or seem to require in order for us to find happiness.
…...it is even more apparent how important the education of the children becomes. They need to know that there is a better life and the living of that life, and One is so dedicated to paving that path
for them. One is a beacon of hope and it is very evident that Tania- her support staff- home and abroad, and so many of the volunteers have poured their hearts into this project and it is beautiful to see that
it has evolved into a large family where the kids have a safe environment to learn, a healthy meal each day and the compassion and
understanding that is required for them to have faith

in a better future and in themselves. ……... it enables us and our children to focus on how much compassion is required to be able to understand how to cope with the situation and then educate the people
towards change……..
So I encourage you all to continue your support of One whether financially, volunteer wise or just taking time to reflect and send
your energy of healing and strength to the children and their families. They do feel the love and are so appreciative of receiving it…..
I recently read about all of us having a sacred space that surrounds us as we move through this life and anybody or anything that enters that space is there to teach us a lesson or to guide us towards our
destiny…….
We all experienced a great many violations of our sacred space but all of them occurred to show us or
teach us about ourselves, our loved ones or the kids at One.”

Yoga for Today Event
|
|
On the 26th of April 2009 a very special fundraiser was hosted at the Yoga For Today Studio.
The Wall/Davis family—parents Wendy and Perry and daughters Taya and Harper—who volunteered in India in early 2009, shared their stories, perceptions, pictures and videos with a captive audience.
Several people with Tina in the lead provided an enhanced version of a typical meal the children in India would eat at lunch.
There was a silent auction, sales table, dancing by the young students of Sharara ,and a very special display of the children still waiting to be sponsored through our Give-a-Child-a-Chance Program. Nine children were sponsored during and following the event. WOW!!
