News From India
We need to give a huge welcome to the
One! Team: Miss Pallavi Metkari of
Byculla, Mumbai. Pallavi has always
wanted to work with children and give
what she can back to her community.
She met with Tania Spilchen in January
and didn’t hesitate to get herself
involved and do all that she can to
better the organization. She is currently
organizing the administration end on
the Indian side and meeting with
organizations and people to get ideas
and support.

Give-a-Child-a-Chance!!!

|
One! has decided to adopt a program
much like Adopt a Child or Sponsor a
Child, except that it is called
Give-a-Child-a-Chance!!!
The Give-a-Child-a-Chance (GCC) entails
a sponsorship from someone like you and
me, which in turn gives huge benefits to
a child in Mumbai. The little girl to
the right is one of these such children!
From this program, the children will have
private classes to move them toward
literacy and further knowledge, school which breaks the class barrier and makes
them similar to other kids of every degree
of wealth, fieldtrips which show them that
learning

can be fun, and food and medical
help whenever needed to give the feeling
that someone cares and someone is there
in need.
Taking part in the GCC will be $30
a month and no other responsibility...
unless more is desired! Letters and
gifts to the child will always be more
than welcome and greatly encouraged.
When a person first starts with the
program, they will get a little photo
album, with pictures and stories describing
the life of the child before One! And of
course after! Then on a continuing basis,
letters and crafts and further pictures
will be given!
