Planning for Goa

We are planning a fabulous mini-vacation for our children in Goa...Big Trip #2.

Due to the generosity of the Swiss donations as well as an ‘in memory’ donation from Helen Arnott, our trip will be the ‘In Memory—And Still Making Smiles ’ trip.

We will be taking 20 lucky students—those with the best attendance and work ethic. Two mom’s will be brought along to help, and there will be 8 volunteers total! HOLY!!!

I just know that the children will be all smiles when they go swimming for the first time and riding in the trains and just getting away from Mumbai for a couple days!

Best Annual Program Yet

After a month of practicing and planning, we had a fabulous Annual Program (Number 3!).

Ravi started out by leading the prayer. The children then proudly sang the National Anthem. At least 15 of the little kids followed with a dance to the Ketchup Song.

Then the big kids put on their play “Who is the King of the Jungle?”. The little kids then stole the stage with their play, Old MacDonald’s Farm (The ducks were the cutest waddling across the stage yelling ‘Quack-quack’). Finally the big kids were able to show off their dance to a very famous Bollywood song “Shaava Shaava”. The last was our favourite song, “Ham Honge Kamiyab” (We will Unite Together).

More than ten children were presented with year awards, and then finally the children just couldn’t wait anymore to receive their very full gift bags!!!

What a fabulolus night!

Congratulations Children!!! Congratulations One!!!!!

The Generous People of Switzerland

We would like to give our condolences to three families in Switzerland and thank them for their huge generosity from the estates.

Sandra Baumgartner, our volunteer from Switzerland (actually Liechtenstein now), had her grandmother pass away at the end of August. While she was in Mumbai, her mother and Aunt’s announced that they were going to be donating the money from the estate to One! Sandra smiled a very beautiful smile and thought that it was perfect.

Her grandmother’s friend passed away not long after, and their family also decided to donate.

Close to the same time, a family friend’s mother also passed away. She, an English teacher, also decided to donate the money.

All told, more than $3000 was donated.

Sandra kept getting phone call after phone call, hearing the unfortunate news of people passing away.

Hopefully, we can make them proud and their memories live on in the smiles of the children.

We will be using part of the money for general functions, but more importantly taking a trip to Goa as discussed to the left.

Being so generous through such hard times is truly remarkable, Thank You Switzerland & Liechtenstein.
