Fundraiser…#6 Believe it or Not

Some of the boys, ‘just hanging out’!
The Future?

Well, the future can never be told, but now it seems even harder than ever. With the construction on the school at a seemingly unending pace (first we were told 2 months and it has already been 10 months), without a concrete place of adequate size, it is impossible to plan or look ahead.

Despite all of these confusions, we are going to start some projects in the mean time:
1) Weekly tutoring for the older group of students, they are learning too fast for only one hour of teaching a day and could use the one-on-one attention.
2) Needlepoint and basic sewing skills that can be taught anywhere any time.
3) Weekend woodworking workshops. We will pick a project and spend the whole day with 5-8 children to make the item.

We are also looking forward to the new round of volunteers to come in the middle of February and will be very sad to see Sonal and Nayur, of England leave.

Ever Growing Generosity

It is hard to believe sometimes how generous people are. We are so lucky. Our family of One! supporters is growing but we also need to give special thanks to those who continue to give over and over and to those who are so generous with gifts-in-kind. Following is only a PARTIAL list.

Through Lerrita Rubinoff in Calgary, the Yoga community there will be sponsoring 4-5 children.
New GCC sponsors Dana Meroniuk, Beatrice Bartl, the Viegas family and Kathy Wilson.
The travel class at Grant MacEwan under Doreen Davidson raised money and in-kind donations.
Tina and Vijay continue to gather sarees and salwars for the mothers in India.
Lorette, Jean & Pat gather books and other child specific material.
Yoga for Today continues to support in a variety of ways.
Kevin Crush writes great articles in the Sherwood Park News.
Many, wonderful one time donations such as “in memory/gift” donations—Shaw & Brown.
