Staff ‘Family’

We are so very fortunate to have found the staff that we have. They are not only excellent employees, but more importantly, excellent PEOPLE!

Vinita was the first to join as our Social Worker in May of 2004. She has a heart of gold and sincerely loves the children. She is excellent with the parents and easily calms them down and creates an excellent platform for communication. She is wonderful listener and the families respect that.

Sandeep joined our team a year later, in March of 2005. The most poignant characteristic of Sandeep is his big smile...and it is always present. He works hard and the children absolutely love him. Sometimes he lets them get away with too much, but lays down the law when push comes to shove!

Vandana was the last to join in April of 2005. It took her a couple months to settle in to the chaos of the children and their mannerisms, but now she has really accepted the children as her own. She puts her whole heart in every situation and always goes above and beyond what is asked of her.

Preceding all three was Vinod who has become an integral part of the team.

Alone each member is fantastic, but together as a team they are phenomenal!!

Oh what a Landlord!

We are so incredibly lucky to have found a landlord like ours. Incredible doesn’t even come close to describing how supportive he has been over the last year and a half.

Our kids, despite how much we try, just can’t seem to be quiet little mice. Our school is in a residential area, and the residents around are not too happy with the amount of noise every day. I personally think that the children are doing great, and are much quieter and more controlled than they used to be. The landlord agrees. He helps in talking to the residents in the area and taking on complaints so that we can concentrate on working with the children and teaching them.

Our Landlord is vital in supporting us and helping us follow our already successful path!

Volunteers Say Farewell

We would like to give a big big big thank you to Johanna Claesson (Sweden), Erica Viegas (Canada) and Tommy Peter Nielson (Denmark). They held up the fort while Tania was gone to Canada and did an excellent job of it. For one of the first times ever, the numbers stayed relativity even—generally attendance drops as soon as Tania leaves.

Johanna will be remembered for her sporty personality and enthusiasm for everything she does. The first day she went to the park with the children, she was playing an Indian game of tag, and played so hard that she tore the skin off the bottoms of both of her feet—then continued as if it was nothing. Santosh still says—she is so fast!!

Erica will be remembered for her huge smile, beautiful voice and warm nature. The children were always wanting to cuddle and play with her.

Tommy’s vibrant personality and enthusiasm for new ideas brought a lot to the school. He will always be remembered as the giant!

Thanks again to everyone!!
